Charcoal Ovens, Cave Lake Road

Today we found an old miner's cemetery on the way to the charcoal ovens. At the cemetery we met a homeless, toothless Scotsman looking for arrowheads. He let us try his divining rods. Here's Dave finding his watch on the ground.

The ovens were used to make charcoal for the smelters.

Then we drove to Cave Lake and decided to take a 33 mile dirt backroad thru beautiful aspen forests and mountain views. We arrived in Elko, NV in the afternoon.
